Mid-week update

Some of you will be very upset with me for writing a post without pictures, but I wanted to give everyone the great news....The Becklets are coming home on Friday!!! All 3 of them together!!! As soon as I walked in to the NICU this morning, Dr. Louie asked me if I knew what the plan was for them to come home. I told him, "yes, we discussed that they would be tentatively coming home on Monday and that Anna may be a few days behind Daniel and Kathryn." He looked at me kind of funny and said, "well, it looks like they may be going home sooner." And then he had to run out to assist with the delivery of a woman's 9th child. He was back 10 minutes later and continued to tell me that he thinks they are ready...all of them. They are all feeding really well (as much as they want to eat every 3 hours), their weights are good (Daniel - 5lb 15oz, Anna - 4lb 5oz, Kathryn - 5lb 0oz), they all passed their car seat tests, and there are sick babies that need their rooms. Kathryn and Anna will be coming home on apnea monitors and they were testing Daniel today to see if he needed to come home on one. They don't think so, but wanted to test to be sure. They also moved them into what they are calling the "growing suite" in the NICU. It is a step down nursery for babies that are not really sick, just working on feeding and growing. They look so cute all together in the same room.

I had to put frantic calls into Kevin and Nanny D. Kevin will need to take off work tomorrow so we can attend the infant CPR and monitor training classes and my Mother was planning on coming on Monday when the babies came home. She is now coming tomorrow to attend the training with us and to help this weekend because I have to go to class on Saturday and Sunday. My last weekend class before I graduate with my MBA!

Kevin and I will be staying at the hospital tomorrow night with the babies. We will all be staying in the same room and Kevin and I will feed them, etc. overnight. This way, if we have any questions about the monitors, or anything else, the nurses will be there to answer them for us. We are very excited to get everyone home and even more excited that it looks like they will all be coming home together!!!

(There is a slight chance that plans will change. If so, they will be coming home Saturday. Either way, they will be here in a few days!) I promise I will post pictures from their homecoming.
