Bee Happy Nursery

I wanted to post some pictures from the nursery. I am sort of a control freak so you can imagine how I felt when I was in the hospital for 7 weeks while the nursery was being painted and decorated by Kevin, Joe (my Father-in-law), and my Mother. Kevin and Joe are the best painters I know, so I was not concerned about how the painting would turn out, but the colors were hard to imagine on the wall. The yellow turned out to be exactly the color we were looking for. We found a bumble bee pattern at our local baby store but did not want to purchase 3 full sets of the bedding, so my extremely creative Mother copied the pattern and made the triplets quilts and pillows for their cribs. (No, we will not be leaving the pillows in the cribs while the babies sleep - they are just for decoration.) She also made the curtains and valances in the room. She actually drew the bumble bees on the quilts and pillows! We did purchase the wall prints that came with the set that we saw in the store.

Aunt Katie made this beautiful wall hanging that she copied from a wall hanging that she found on a website.

The cute stuffed pillows (again, will not be in the cribs when babies are in them) were a gift from the triplets' cousins Paul, Andrew, Max and Calvin. Daniel's is a dog, Kathryn's is an elephant and Anna's is a monkey. The hats on the pillows are from a friend of Grandy's (Kevin's Mother) at her crochet/knitting class. I picked out the glider to match the room, and I love black and white gingham so it was perfect (and very comfy.)

This chair was Kevin's when he was a child and the dolls were mine when I was a child - OK, I was actually in high school when I got the cabbage patch doll.

We love the way the room turned out and can't wait for it to be full of babies. There was a slight change of plans because it was determined that Daniel will also have to come home on a monitor, so they will all be coming home tomorrow afternoon. We are so excited! Kevin, unfortunately, is also very sick and has been in bed all morning, so we have an appointment with his doctor this afternoon. I threw the newborn triplet card when I called and was able to get a last minute appointment today. Hopefully, it is nothing serious and he will be feeling better tomorrow. I will try to post again over the weekend with their homecoming pictures but I have class Saturday and Sunday mornings so it may be a little bit hectic around here.

The room looks so great! Nice job everyone did! By the way, tell Kevin that Nana must be on his same wave length - she's feeling under the weather this evening also. Hope they'll both be fine tomorrow! And WELCOME HOME, BECKLETS!!!!

Love to all,
Aunt Ellie
