We had our apnea clinic appointment this evening and the Becklets are officially OFF the apnea monitors!! WooHoo!! For the first time in their lives, they are wire free! I took pictures of the monitors and the belts that the babies wore. Kevin told me I was nuts and I told him I had to post the pics on the blog. He confirmed that I am nuts. So, here is a picture of the monitor.....
An alarm would sound if the baby either stopped breathing for more than 20 seconds, or if their heart rate dropped below 80. When we first brought them home, they each would have episodes and the alarms would go off. Fortunately, we never had to do anything to help them. By the time we would get to them, they would get themselves out of the episode, meaning they would start to breathe again or their heart rate would go back to normal. The last 2 months or more, the majority of the alarms were false alarms and really annoying. Also, with 3 monitors, we were always tripping over the cords or pulling the cords out. We are thrilled that the days of the monitors are behind us. The babies wore these belts around their chests which held the leads against their bodies and the wires plugged into the monitor....
It is so nice to finally hold them without any wires or belts attached.
They were each weighed at their appointment. Daniel weighs 12lb 15oz. Anna weighs 11lb 9oz. And, Kate weighs 11lb 15oz.
We have started Daniel on cereal and he is doing pretty well. The girls have no interest in it yet, so we decided not to push it and we'll try again in a couple of weeks. Here is Daniel enjoying his meal...
We are off to the beach tonight! We are going to leave after the babies middle of the night feeding. My family has been there since Saturday so we can't wait to get there. I hope to take lots of pictures to post when we get back.

Daniel sure looks happy to have found the good stuff!!!!! And I'll bet the babies are happy to be "free at last" also!!! Hope it's cooler at the beach than it is here in Maryland!
Love to all,
Aunt Ellie & Nana
It was not cooler at the beach. However, Dan did enjoy his walk on the boardwalk with one of his grandpops. He looked good in his speedo swim suit. The girls will need to eat more cereal in order to fill out their new suits. I trust there will be lots of pictures from the beach, soon!!
