27 1/2 weeks

We are almost to the next milestone of 28 weeks. I am still in the hospital but holding out hope that they will let me go home this week. They are going to check my cervix again on Thursday and determine if I can go home and be on bedrest instead of in the hospital. Triplets are born, on average, at 32 weeks. That is only a little over 4 weeks away! We would love to make it to 34 weeks but these babies may have a different plan. We had an ultrasound yesterday to check the positions of the babies. They are so squished in there. Baby A is really, really low. Babies B and C are right next to each other also heads down. The technician said it looks like they are fighting to get out. Hold on for a few more weeks babies!!

I had a rough day yesterday - I was feeling sorry for myself for a few reasons, some of which make me laugh today! For example, my back was hurting from being in bed for so long so they gave me an air mattress to put on top of the hospital mattress. This definitely helped until I busted it on Sunday night! Yes, popped a hole right in the darn thing. I am laughing now thinking about it but yesterday it really had me upset.

My Baby Shower was on Saturday at Susan's house. Since I was not able to attend in person, I attended via webcam. It was great to see everyone. It was really nice because Margo, Michael and Maggie were also able to attend via webcam. Gotta love technology! Everyone was extremely generous - thank you!!! I have not gotten to see everything in person yet, but Mary and Mike came up on Sunday and they brought some of the clothes and some gift baskets to the hospital so I was able to see some of the gifts.

Thank you to Mary and Mikey for visiting on Sunday. It was great to see you both! And, I cannot thank Mary enough for pampering me. She colored my hair so the skunk stripe is gone and she painted my toenails!! For those of you that don't know my feet - this is a huge task. She also brought me new body lotion and room spray which smells great. I feel like a new woman.

I am looking forward to this weekend. Chris, Dave, McKenna and Hope are coming to visit and I think my Mother may be coming as well!! I would love to be home for their visit so I can challenge McKenna and Hope to Wii bowling.

I will post again later this week once I find out if I am going home or not.

Patty: Thanks for the laugh about the air mattress! I wish I could have been there to hear the hhssssss!

...and it's o.k. to feel sorry for yourself now & then. You've been VERY PATIENT through this journey--not too many of us would be as patient as you have been.

Try looking at things this way: CHRISTMAS was about 49 days ago-- (our neighbors just took down their tree on Sunday!)--look how quickly that time has passed. In another 49 or so days, you & Kevin could be holding/feeding/changing the BECKLETS!!! Before you know it, it'll be YOUR birthday & we'll have to pull three little baby seats up to the table to help you blow out your candles...hope the babies know "Happy Birthday"!

Keep smiling! Love you!!

Hi Patty,
Just a quick note to let you know we're following the Becklett Story. I love the story about the mattress and the foot comment. It's cold, snowy, icy, and yuck outside. A good day to be in. Hey, I'm trying to find something positive here, it's the best I could come up with.

Hi Patty,
You don't know me but I'm an old friend of Margo and the Imbornone family. Margo sent me your blog and I check it often to make sure those babies are still hanging in there! I was in the exact same situation (hospitalized at the same gestation) and carried my triplet pregnancy to 32 weeks 2 days and we now have two beautiful boys and girl to show for it! They are happy, healthy 2 year olds and running all over the place! I think about you guys often and am hoping to hear you make it to 35 weeks. You and your husband have a lot of work ahead of you but the joy your little munchkins will bring you far outweighs sleepless days and nights. All the hard work you are going through right now is worth every bit! Hang in there and be well!
All our best,
