Change of plans!

Well, after posting yesterday, I left for work. Thirty minutes after I got to work, I received a call from my OB's office concerned that my cervix had shortened and they wanted me to go to Labor & Delivery to get checked out. I thought I might be having some contractions, but they were painless so I wasn't quite sure. Once at the hospital, they hooked me up to 3 fetal heart monitors and a monitor to measure any contractions. Heartbeats were all good and sure enough, I was having some small contractions. All normal for Triplets, according to the doctor. She said it was just a matter of time until I ended up in L&D to be monitored. They started me on Procardium (sp?) to help control the contractions and gave me a steroid shot to help develop the babies' lungs. I had to stay the night to be monitored and will get another steroid shot at 5 PM today.

My OB is on call today, so we were able to talk to him this morning. Sounds like I will be here until at least Monday. When I go home, I will be home monitored 3 times/week and will basically be on bedrest until the babies are born. My goal is still 34-35 weeks but Dr. Hamm told me to take it week by week. Each week past week 24 is a milestone in a Triplet pregnancy.

Let me know if anyone has ideas for me to pass the time. I'm trying to talk Kevin into brining the Wii over so I can continue to master Guitar Hero. Keep the prayers coming!!

Nana and Aunt Ellie continue to send you our prayers. (Sorry if this appears twice - thought I sent it, but it didn't appear). Maybe that means we're praying twice as hard!!!! ;-)

I think the last thing you have to worry about is a lack of prayers from your family and friends! You know we're all praying for you and those 3 little ones (and poor Kevin too!)
