- Apparently, the blood work they did last week did not come back OK. I appear to have an increase in bile acids in my liver which is causing the itching (condition called cholistasis). They took more blood last night but we won't have the results until early next week. Until then, they have me on yet another prescription to help decrease the bile acids and help with the itching. In addition, they have had me on the heart monitors and the contraction monitor since last night.
- They found trace amounts of protein in my urine and my blood pressure is slowly creeping up, which is a sign of pre-eclampsia (happens in small amount of pregnancies after the 20th week - mutliple pregnancy is a risk factor for developing pre-e.) They are continuing to test my urine and take frequent blood pressure readings.
- Having the heart monitors and contraction monitor on 24 hours a day is no fun. Everytime I roll over or get up to go to the bathroom, the nurse has to come in to readjust the monitors to make sure all 3 babies are monitoring well. Not fun in the middle of the night.
- My OB and perinatologist seem to have differing views on how this will go. The OB says he believes the babies will be delivered sooner rather than later. The Peri says he believes we can still make it to 34 weeks. The worst part is not knowing when these babies will come.
I will continue to keep everyone posted on our progress. We are hoping for a quiet weekend and would love to get to next weekend.
In other news....
HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY to our nephew Nathan Beck! His birthday is this Saturday and unfortunately, Kevin and I will be unable to attend his birthday party. Always a good time at Tom & Colleen's!
We can't wait for the summer - I hear our niece, Emily, is willing to visit Scranton for a whole week to help with the triplets! She has great experience since she is Nathan's big sister. Also heard a rumor that Emily's brother Tommy wants to come and help too! WooHoo!! We'll take all the help we can get!

Hang in there. With all the time you've spent around doctors, you're sounding like one, with all the medical terms. As Kramer said in a Seinfeld episode..."Serenity Now..."
