Introducing Sean Paul Beck!

Sean Paul Beck was born Saturday, January 16, 2010! I started having contractions at 12:30am and waited until 7am to call the doctor. By the time we got to the hospital and got hooked up to the monitor, the contractions were 2 minutes apart. The doctor was a little concerned at first because I was only 36 weeks and 2 days pregnant. After looking at all of our ultrasounds, he determined that we probably should have changed my due date to 2/5 instead of 2/11 so he was much more comfortable delivering him. After waiting for a little over an hour, Sean was born at 11:56am, weighing in at 8 pounds 10 ounces. The NICU doctor who was in the operating room told us he believed my due date was wrong based on Sean's weight and some other things (that I don't really remember because so much was going on)! He had a little bit of fluid in his lungs so they kept him in the nursery for a couple of hours until that cleared up.

We came home on Tuesday and the Becklets absolutely adore him. They can't stop kissing him and asking where the baby is when he is not in the same room as the rest of us. They also go running to him as soon as he cries. Every aspect of this pregnancy was a completely different experience than my pregnancy with the Becklets. I am so thankful to have experienced both pregnancies. Sean is absolutely wonderful and the perfect addition to our family.

Kathryn loves being a big sister...

This picture was taken 2 days before Sean was born. I swear the Becklets sensed something was going on. They were very snuggly the couple of days prior to Sean's birthday. Somehow they all managed to fit on my lap with the belly. (Not sure where Anna learned the loser sign on the forehead.)
